What Is Permanent Hair Removal
Permanent Hair Removal The Easy Way – Try It Now
The actual term, permanent hair removal, has been used too frivolously over the years by plastic surgeons, medical spas, as well as many laser hair clinics. I guess we have to question them as to how they define permanent. The US Government, primarily the Food and Drug Administration, does not permit any of these to advertise their services or their technology, using the term permanent hair removal, even though the laser technology is FDA approved.
The FDA’s reasoning behind this is that hair removed by laser technology does not provide 100% permanent hair removal, only about 90%. The reason for this is because hair normally grows in stages, and for the laser to be 100% effective, all hair to removed must be at the same growth stage, which is impossible. They don’t want the unsuspecting public to assume that 100% of the hair in the target area will be permanently removed. The FDA prefers the use the term permanent hair reduction instead of the customary permanent hair removal.
The hair that does come back is normally much lighter as well as finer, and easier to control. So, in effect, the FDA’s use of permanent hair reduction versus permanent hair removal is true, but for those that use the waxing and tweezers method, the 10% that grows back is a small price to pay. The laser permanent hair removal is more costly, but they are as close to permanent as you can find. Laser hair removal is still considered closest to permanent in today’s method of hair removal.
The only true method of permanent hair removal today is electrolysis, but it is generally used for the upper lip or the chin. When you use electrolysis for hair removal, a small needle is used with an electric current, and each hair follicle is treated one at a time, and this is a permanent removal. As stated above, it is generally used for a very small area and is very impractical for larger areas such as the back, arms, or legs. I can’t imagine what it would feel like going through many sessions for a large area, as it becomes quite painful and sometimes causes the skin to discolor for those who have a dark complexion.
This is why laser hair removal has become the technology of choice for many individuals. There is so much more control, and less pain with the laser, plus it is much faster and effective. Putting up with the 10% grow back is something that most individuals can tolerate.
